Upcoming Meetings

March 15  Gala Committee Meeting, Hudson Community Foundation Board Room, Noon to 1:00 p.m.

Past Meeting

Rotarian Mimi Becker, PhD. is seen with our speaker Joseph Ortiz, PhD.  Dr. Ortiz shared his personal experience of researching the current capabilities and availabilities of high efficiency heat pumps for replacement of air conditioners and natural gas fueled furnaces.  There is an active movement toward free- market selection of heat pumps.  Local HVAC providers are increasingly being asked to provide quotes for heat pumps.  Federal and state rebates are also supporting the decision toward a "greener" solution.  Dr. Ortiz has his finger on the pulse of the market.

...The 4-Way Speech contest is coming up soon and Jim Ahern is again leading our efforts.  Judges will be needed to select the two speakers from each high school that will advance to the club level speech contest.  Please consider being a school judge.  It's a wonderful experience and the students are trying hard to master their craft.
...Max Wendel is turning 90 on March 11th.  Liz Ramsey coordinates our Sunshine effort by mailing cards to Rotarians on their birthdays and other occasions.  Liz is asking all members to drop Max a card and flood his mailbox!
...Donations this month will be made to Grace House located in Akron. This is a small facility that provides hospice care for those who have no caregiver.  What they really need are gift cards to any local grocery stores so they can replenish their pantry.  They are also in need of postage stamps and cash.
