Past Meeting
Dr. Sarah Adams was a most engaging speaker sharing her personal journey of frustration after a career of more than 20 years serving the children of Hudson and Summit County. She was near burnout when she discovered a dynamic new way of communicating and teaching parents. It all involved the new digital technology of podcasting. With more than 100 episodes in the can, Dr. Sarah shared the nuts and bolts of creating, promoting and keeping her podcasts fresh and relevant. She built this successful new business in partnership with PodPopuli, a local Hudson vendor. She has also tapped into her broad relationships with fellow healthcare professionals and a wide array of other resources, including our own Rotarian John Adams (Dr. Sarah's spouse) who addressed the importance of fiscal education for children. Take a moments to check out one of the episodes of "Growing Up with Dr. Sarah".
Under a new strategic partnership, Rotary and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) are launching the 'Community Action for Fresh Water' initiative, focusing on the protection of freshwater ecosystems.
...Kris Barker had the happiest of birthday surprises last week when she not only won the 50/50 raffle but pulled the black marble to take home more than $250! This was Kris's first BIG win! It will start all over again this week with a big jackpot of $100. Could someone possibly pull off a back-to-back win?
...This month President Terri is leading a drive to collect socks and gloves for the Haven of Rest. It is so cold this week, the need is very high. Please help if you can!
