Past Meeting
Tom McKenzie from Stan Hywet with Jim Lang.
Stan Hywet is the 6th largest private residence in the US and was the home of FA and Gertrude Seiberling and their family from 1915 to 1955. Constructed over a three year period, the estate at one time encompassed more than 1500 acres much of it developed into formal gardens and water features. The Music Room is a grand 2,700 sq ft in size and was the original home of Music from The Western Reserve. As fitting for the President of Goodyear, FA was a car guy with a garage that could accommodate 10 vehicles. That tradition continues with the Annual Father's Day Car Show. The Seiberling family is also instrumental in the founding of Alcoholic's Anonymous and hosts the Annual Celebration of its start. This is truly a "must" visit every season of the year. Stan Hywet is open from April 1 through the end of December and is known as an outstanding wedding and event space.
Katharine Hayhoe explains the enormity of our climate crisis, how it magnifies virtually every other serious challenge, and how all hope is not lost. Not by a long shot
