Electrify Everything: Practical Climate Change Mitigation and Adaption

Dr. Joseph D. Ortiz is a Professor of Earth Sciences at Kent State University. He holds a PhD in Oceanography from the College of Earth Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University and a B.S. in Aquatic Science with Honors from Brown University. He completed his Post-doc work at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University before arriving at Kent State as an assistant professor.  His expertise is in climate change, environmental remote sensing, energy resources, and sedimentary geology. He is a long-time resident of Hudson, living here with his wife, Donna, and children since 2001. His two children both graduated from Hudson High School, having completed their entire K-12 education in the district. He enjoys hiking, outdoor photography, and is the vice chair of the Hudson Environmental Awareness Committee.
