Local Initiatives Addressing Climate Change and Environmental Concerns

Mimi Becker, PhD, is a retired Associate Prof. Natural Resource & Env. Policy at University of New Hampshire.  She obtained her PhD in Environmenta Studies from Duke University Nichoas School of the Environment in 1996.   She was the co-founder of the UNH-EcoQuest New Zealand Field Studies Program for Undergraduates, The Marine Resource Education Project (MREP) The M.S. Program in Environmental Education, and the TIDES M.S. program while at UNH. Prior to that she was a creator and the Project Director of a the Binational Decisions for the Great Lakes Program, that was designed to engage decision makers in all sectors in learning together about the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement's ecosystem approach for restoring the Great Lakes Basin's Areas of Concern, and then providing leadership for its implementation.  She is a member of the League of Women Voters and an active resource for our local community on environmental issues.
