The Rotary Gala in its 33rd year, will once again offer highly sought after gifts at auction, including:
 
 
  • Comprehensive orthodontic care provided by well respected authorities, Dr. John White, owner of “Braces by White” and his partner Dr. Aminoshariae valued at $6480 for a child or adult. White has treated more than 10,000 patients over the past 30 years, and, as a professor at Case Western Reserve, has taught hundreds of other dentists entering the profession.
  • Golf foursomes with carts at Silver Lake Country Club, the Country Club of Hudson and Raccoon Hills Golf Club. And, a full swing evaluation, a follow-up lesson and a video practice session at GolfTEC. Each package is valued between $165 and $425.
  • Akron General Health and Wellness Center three month family membership valued at $525.
 
Previously reported major auction items include a Lake Erie boat cruise and gourmet dinner, the use of a Corvette for one month, an Allegheny River lodge weekend and a Breckenridge villa ski week.
 
Beneficiaries of the 2017 Gala will be:
 
  • Hudson Community First which has launched a new comprehensive program entitled “What Every Senior Needs to Know Before Going to College.” A workshop at Hudson High School examined the difficulties young people face as they enroll in college including, anxiety and depression, date rape, binge drinking, drugs and overall safety.
  • The Gift of Life program of Northeast Ohio that provides funds for needed heart surgery for struggling children in underdeveloped countries, Haiti in particular. Doctors from our area, some of whom live in Hudson, along with local hospitals donate their skills and service.
  • Hattie Larlham Foundation, providing the best care possible forpersons with developmental disabilities, will use the funds to purchase Airvo humidifiers to help children breathe easier by clearing their airways.
